William Joel Lawson

Joel married Donna Hamilton on February 13, 1971 in Pasadena, Texas. They shared almost 42 years of happy marriage, and to this union were born their daughter, Erika Lee and son, Wesley Joel.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Donna; daughter, Erika; son, Wesley and his fiancee Lisa Hanson. Joel was "Grandad" to Torri, Laurel, Camron, Jacob and Braeden. He is also survived by his father, Mack Lawson; sisters, Connie and Darla Lawson and Leanna Pillow; and brother, Greg Lawson. Also surviving are his in-laws, Maxie Anderson, Darrell and Joy Hamilton, Ellen and Raymond Perot and Lori Kay. He will be greatly missed by his many nieces and nephews.

Joel was preceded in death by his mother, Norma and infant sister, Mary Dena.

Joel was a Christian and devoted member of Bald Hill Baptist Church. He was a very loving man who would do anything for his friends and family without thinking twice. Joel could visit with anyone for hours, losing track of time, never rushing to leave good conversation with anyone. He was loved dearly and will be missed by all of us.

Pallbearers will be Wesley Lawson, Camron Lawson, Matthew Waldon, Christopher Perot, icholas Perot and Ryan Hamilton. Honorary pallbearers will be Travis Hamilton, Jared Hamilton, Justin Pillow, Paola Santos and James Schwacofer.

Services for Joel will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 22, 2012 in the Gipson Funeral Home with Roger Fancher officiating. There will be no procession from the funeral home to the cemetery. Please meet the family at Fielder Memorial Cemetery at noon.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
