William Guy Treadway

Services for Velma Mae Treadway, 73, and William Guy Treadway, 86, of Diboll, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2014 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Kenny Hibbs officiating. Interment will follow in Union Springs Cemetery in Corrigan.

Mrs. Treadway was born February 17, 1941 in Carmona, Texas, the daughter of the late Pearlie (Brooks) and Roy Beauchamp. She passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at her residence.

Mr. Treadway was born January 24, 1928 in Midway, Texas, the son of the late Katie (Massey) and Governor Bailey Treadway. He passed away November 25, 2014 at his residence.

Mrs. Treadway enjoyed sewing, but her biggest joy was her children and grandchildren. She loved her church and she was very generous and accepting of others. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Diboll.

Mr. Treadway enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He retired from Painters Local #130, Houston. He loved his children and grandchildren and never met a stranger.

Mr. and Mrs. Treadway are survived by their daughter and son-in-law, Sonja Kay and Danny Guenther of Spring, Texas; sons, Bryan Treadway and Kerry Treadway, both of Houston; grandsons, Ronnie Treadway and wife Adrian, Randy Treadway and Michael Treadway; granddaughter, Madison Guenther; grandson, Landon Guenther; and great-grandchild, Avery Treadway. Mrs. Treadway is also survived by her sister, Georgia Farmer and husband Wayne; and her brother, Roy Beauchamp. Mr. Treadway is also survived by his brother, G. B. Treadway and wife Joyce; and his sister, Jean Scott and husband Bill.

Mr. Treadway was preceded in death by his parents; half-brother, Weldon Driskell; and sisters, Doris Terry and Marie Lewis.

Pallbearers will be Scott Treadway, Michael Farmer, Glenn Boyd, Willie Brooks, Daniel Brooks and Melvin Cassel.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
