Marjorie Smith Vaughan

Marjorie Smith Vaughan, 86, of Lynchburg, died Thursday, July 5, 2018, at Lynchburg General Hospital. Born in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Tazwell Smith and Nellie Pollard Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Robert Vaughan. Marjorie was a member of Quaker Memorial Presbyterian Church and was retired from the University of Lynchburg. She was a former clerk in the United States Supreme Court. She is survived by one daughter, Karen Holmes of Tucson, AZ; one sister, Joyce Ballowe of Lynchburg and three grandchildren. A graveside will be conducted at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at the mausoleum chapel in Fort Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Bart W. Edwards, officiating.
