Barbara A. Carlton Raftery

Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Everett Carlton and Elizabeth (Mara) Perkins. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School Class of 1949.

Barbara worked for 30 years as an Instructional Aide for the Lynn Public School Department, at E.J. Harrington. She was a member of the Lynn Teacher’s Union. A communicate of St. Pius V where she was on the St. Pius V Committee.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 63 years,Thomas M. Raftery, and their children Mark T. Raftery of Danvers, Thomas M. Raftery & wife Davida of Danvers, Debra A. LeBlanc & husband Maurice “Moe” of Danvers and Maura Raftery of Venice, FL; grandchildren, Thomas Raftery, Keith LeBlanc & wife Kerrie, Kaitlin Cobb & husband Peter, Erin Harkins & husband Jay, Jenna Long & husband Chris, Brett Raftery, Connor Raftery, and Cate Raftery; great grandchildren Caroline LeBlanc, Brandon Cobb, Charlotte Long and baby boy Harkins due in October. She was predeceased by a son Michael P. Raftery, a brother Robert L. Carlton and a sister Elizabeth R. Bresnahan.

Barbara’s Funeral will be held from the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Monday at 10 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Pius V Church at 11 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Interment at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Lynn. Visiting Hours Sunday 2 to 5 PM. Contributions may be made in Barbara’s name to Boston North Cancer Association, Inc. P.O. Box 3153 Peabody, MA 01960.
