

Carmen Mendez, age 87, of Peabody, died Wednesday May 7th at her home, of natural causes, surrounded by her family. Born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, she was the daughter of the late Jose and Consuelo (Linares) Perez. Carmen moved to Peabody in 1960 and has been a resident of Peabody ever since. She was employed as an assembler at Parker Brothers Games in Salem for many years. Carmen was a member of the Torrente de Cedron Church in Lynn for 59 years. She enjoyed singing, cooking, sewing, baking, and going to church.
She is survived by two sons Felipe and his wife Silvia Mendez of Revere, Joel Mendez of Peabody, one daughter Janet Mendez of Salem, three sisters Marta Colon of Lynn, Patria Felix of Peabody, Margot Perez of Peabody, two brothers Rafael Perez of Lynn, Agustin Perez of the Dominican Republic, four grandchildren Ivan and Jordan Mendez, Mauricio and Sofia Oliveira, and many nieces and nephews.
Service Details: Visiting Hours will be held at the Parker Funeral Home 35 Franklin Street Lynn on Saturday May 17th from 10:00 – 12:00 PM, with services beginning at 11:30 AM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
