

Born in Lynn, Catherine was the daughter of the late Angelo and Mary (Moretti) Zappacosta. She was the devoted and loving wife of the late Peter A. Genica with whom she shared 29 years of marriage.
Catherine is survived by her children Peter A. Genica of Peabody and Donna Doucette and her husband John of Middleton, three grandchildren Gina, Peter, and Kristina Genica of Maine, and two great grandchildren, Noah and Elton Jr. She is also survived by her brother Robert Zappacosta of Florida and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister Valerie Fessenden. She worked for many years at State Street Bank in Boston. She was a member of Moose Lodge 218 of Salem Chapter 2213 for over 25 years, also a member of the Red Hat Day Dreamers, Saugus Chapter. She loved the beach, traveling, dancing, cooking and crafting, but especially spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Catherine's Funeral will be held from the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn on Thursday at 10:00 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Holy Family Church, Lynn at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Interment is at St. Joseph Cemetery, Lynn. Visiting Hours will be held Wednesday from 4-8 PM.
