Catherine M. George

She was the wife of the late Richard H. George, Jr.

Born in Swampscott, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Anna H. (Scarpello) Foley. She graduated from St. Mary’s Girls High School, Class of 1944, and was a longtime Lynn resident.

She enjoyed traveling, playing mah jong, and bridge, and was an avid needlework artist. She also was a volunteer at Salem Hospital.

She was the mother of the late Mark George and leaves his longtime partner Joan of Salem, Martin George and his wife Susan of Wakefield and Peter George and his wife Julie of Lynn, two brothers John W. Foley of Fountain Hills, AZ and William Foley, Jr. and his wife Maeve of Danvers, three granddaughters Caitlin Kunkel, Rachel Wallace and Jessica Lear, two great-granddaughters Amelia Lear and Eliza Wallace, and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2017 from 11 AM to 12 PM in the CUFFE-McGINN FUNERAL HOME 157 Maple Street, Lynn, followed by a Memorial Service at 12 PM. Donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
