Catherine Hicks

Mrs. Catherine (Fallon) Hicks, age 92, of Lynn, passed away at her home with her family by her side on Tuesday, November 15, 2011. She was the wife of the late Edward Hicks with whom she shared 43 years of marriage.

Catherine was born in Salem, MA to the late Owen and Catherine (Clancy) Fallon. She was employed with Sylvania Lighting for many years until her retirement in the early 1980’s. After retirement, Catherine kept herself busy with the Salem School District working as a Teacher’s Aide until the age of 87. Catherine was a very active communicant of St. Pius V Church in Lynn as well as a strong supporter of St. James Church in Salem. She was also a member of the Quarter Century Club and she enjoyed staying active in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s lives.

Catherine was the devoted mother of Donna DeFlorio and husband, Daniel of Missouri, Kevin Hicks and wife, June of Swampscott, John Hicks of Danvers, David Hicks and wife, Linda of Lynn; beloved sister, Margaurite Pellitier. Also surviving are her 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews of whom she adored. Catherine was predeceased by her brothers, Owen and John Fallon and her twin sister with whom she had a special bond with, Elizabeth Fallon.

Catherine’s Funeral will be held from the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St., Lynn on Saturday at 9:00AM. Funeral Mass at Holy Family Church, 26 Bessom St., Lynn at 10AM.
