

Catherine M. “Katy” (O’Connor) Power, age 92, formerly of Lynn & Lynnfield, died Monday at Windsor Place in Wilmington, after a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert J. Power, with whom she had shared 67 wonderful years of marriage.
Born in New York, Catherine was the daughter of the late James and Ursula (Donovan) O’Connor. She attended Lynn Schools and was a graduate of Lynn English High School. She later attended Burdett Business School and worked as a payroll secretary at McGrane’s Department Store. Katy also was a former member of Our Lady of Assumption Sodality and the Lancer’s Square Dancing Club in Salem.
Katy enjoyed traveling, cooking, baking, knitting, boating and the beach. Above all, what she cherished most was the time she spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her five children: Robin Eriksen of Billerica, Mark Power and wife Joanne of Reading, Kathleen Benedetto and husband Joseph of Reading, Maureen Woodlock and her husband Kevin of South Carolina, and Michael Power of Pocasset; nine grandchildren: Rebecca Eriksen, Jenny Eriksen-Leary, Joshua Eriksen, Elizabeth Benedetto, Colin Woodlock, Daniel Woodlock, Laura Auriti, David Power and Marcus Tan, to whom she was lovingly referred to as Mimi. She also is survived by 6 great grandchildren: Nico, Ariella, MJ, Maxwell, Ava and Kira.
Katy’s Funeral will be held from the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St., Lynn on Friday, May 1st at 10:00 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, 758 Salem St., Lynnfield at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends are invited. The Interment will take place immediately following at St. Mary’s Cemetery, 190 Lynnfield St., Lynn. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, April 30 from 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be sent to Joslin Diabetes Center, 1 Joslin Place, Boston, MA 02215 or to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 6931 Arlington Rd. 2nd Fl., Bethesda, MD 20814.
