Born in Salem, MA on May 2, 1938 he was the son of the late Daniel F. Burke, Jr. and Elizabeth (Callahan) Burke. Daniel was a graduate of Peabody High School, Class of 1956. Following his education, Daniel proudly served in the United States Navy. He then went on to work for General Electric in both Lynn and Fitchburg until his retirement.
In his free time Daniel enjoyed playing golf and was an avid Boston sports fan. Dan had a soft heart, a gentlemanly demeanor, and a voracious appetite.
Surviving Daniel are his two sons, Michael Burke of Waynesboro, PA, and David Burke of HIngham, MA; his former wife, Sharon Pineault-Burke of Middleton, MA; and his sister, Elizabeth Sketchley of Lynn, MA. Daniel was the brother-in-law of the late John Sketchley. He will be missed by many.
Arrangements: Friends and family are invited to call at the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn, MA on Saturday, July 17th from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. His Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. at St. Pius V Church, Lynn.
