

Mrs. Dorothy M. (Lazurek) Blaney, age 77, of Lynn, died suddenly on August 8, 2013 while visiting relatives in Arizona. She was the wife of John P. Blaney, Jr. with whom she shared 58 years of marriage.
Born in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late John and Lotta M. (Little) Lazurek. She lived in Lynn for most of her life.
She and her husband were avid bingo players. She also loved to crochet and knit.
Dorothy took care of her family and lived for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mom always said, “It’s not good-bye, it’s see you later.”
Dorothy was the mother of John P. Blaney, III and his wife Karen of Amesbury, Michael E. Blaney and his wife Emily of Tewksbury, Sheryl A. Coukos of Lynn, Lisa M. Michaud and her husband Michael of Wakefield, Steven S. Blaney of Haverhill, Dennis J. Blaney and his wife Melinda of Lynn, and of the late David A. Blaney. She also leaves three bothers John Lazurek of Lynn, James Lazurek of Lynn and Gary Lazurek and his wife Elaine of AZ, four sisters Patricia Narducci and her husband Vincent of Lynn, Ellen Leone and her husband Joseph of Lynn, Mildred Fraser and her husband David of AZ, and Jane Parker and her husband Robert of AZ, 19 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Joseph Lazurek.
A funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 10 AM in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home 157 Maple Street, Lynn. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-7 PM.
