

Mrs. O’Neill was born in Lynn and married Robert J. “Tip” O’Neil, also of Lynn, in January 1945. Mr. O’Neill was a retired Air Force Master Sergeant before his death in 1980. During their 35 year marriage they lived in eight states and also in Germany, where Mrs. O’Neill worked as a film-librarian for the Armed Forces Television Network. During her retirement, she was an avid reader who also enjoyed challenging jigsaw puzzles, dancing and social functions at the Saugus Senior Center.
She leaves two daughters, Patricia Casey and her husband Joseph of Falls Church, VA and Rivka O. Gallant and her husband Charles of Andover; her two much-beloved grandchildren, Meghan and her husband Robert Blake of Washington D.C. and Andrew Gallant and his wife Jennifer of Raleigh, NC, and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Joseph Saben, who died in World War II, Alice Coates, Mildred Teague, and Arlene Mahar. She will be missed by her friends, but most deeply by her longtime devoted companion Norman Dodge of Marblehead.
A Funeral Service will be held in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St., Lynn on Wednesday at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery.
