Born in Norwood, he was the son of Douglas C. Smith of Lynn and of the late Eileen (Doherty) Smith. He graduated from Wakefield High School and lived in Lynn for the greater part of his life.
Doug served in the U. S. Army for three years and worked as a carpet installer for several years.
He collected model cars and enjoyed fishing.
In addition to his wife and father he leaves his children, Teddy, Shawn, Jayden and Jason; 2 brothers Jason D. Smith and his wife Jessica, and Jonathan Smith all of Lynn, three sisters Kelly and Randi Smith both of Lynn and Kimberly Dunn of Ohio, and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Visitation will be held in the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple Street, Lynn on Sunday from 2-4PM. Relatives and friends invited.
