
Mr. Edward M. Rokicki, age 88, of Lynn, passed away on July 1st. Edward was born in Lynn on August 8, 1925, the son of the late Joseph and Josephine (Piorun) Rokicki. “Eddie” was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School and served in the U.S. Army during WWII as an engineer in England, Germany, France and Austria.
After his service, he worked at AD Automotive, and then at the USPS as a clerk in Lynn and Woburn, until his retirement in 1987. He was a member of PLAV Post 56 and was a communicant of St. Michael’s Church. Ed enjoyed reading novels, puzzles, and was an avid stamp collector.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years Helen (Cox) Rokicki. He is the father of Michael Rokicki of WA, and Christine Miner and her husband John of Lynn. He was the grandfather of Renae Rokicki, John Miner, Jr. and Devin Miner. He was preceded in death by his son Edward Rokicki, Jr., and by his siblings Jules Rokicki, Natalie Rokicki, Adele Aliano and Genevieve Ketchen.
His funeral will be held on Monday at 9:30AM from the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home 157 Maple Street, Lynn, followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church Lynn at 10:30 AM. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visiting hours Sunday 2-5 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
