

Born in Newfoundland, Florence was the daughter of the late Harvey and Jane (Ashe) Bray. She attended Swampscott Schools and was a graduate of Swampscott High School. She later attended the Attleboro School of Nursing.
An active member of the Salvation Army, Florence was a Senior Soldier and a well-known collector at the Eastern Savings Bank in Lynngate Plaza. She was past Noble Grand of the Rebekah Lodge and was also a member of the White Shrine of Jerusalem #6, the Order of the Eastern Star Victory Chapter #157 of Marblehead and a lifetime member of the Lynn Public High School Band.
She and her late husband had the traveling entertainment group known as the “Jim Dandies” and were founders of the Lynn Police Athletic League. She had great respect for the Lynn Fire and Police Depts. and never missed a firefighter memorial services for over 45 years.
Florence’s family wishes to thank the staff of the Lifecare Center of the North Shore for their care and compassion shown to her during her time with them.
She leaves her twin daughters, Betty Meharg and Barbara Day both of Lynn. She was the Grandmother to Jayne Ashurst and her husband Jim, Jim Day ad his wife Terry, and Carol and Darall Meharg. She was the Great Grandmother to Thomas Day and Darryl, Ashley and Danny Ashurst. She was the sister to Ethel Farmer of Beverly and the late Reginald “Rex” Bray, Jack Bray, Harvey Bray, Grace Norris and Jessie Prescott.
Her Funeral Service will be held in the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Thursday at 10:00AM. Relatives and friends invited. Interment Pine Grove Cemetery. Visiting Hours Wednesday 3-7PM.
