
Mrs. Gayle I. (Duffy) Carter, age 65, of North Waterboro, Maine, formerly of Malden, passed away peacefully Wednesday in Portland Maine Medical Center following a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late John T. Carter.
Born in Everett, Gayle was the daughter of the late Martin and Dorothy (Mulley) Duffy. She attended Everett Schools and was a graduate of Everett High School. She resided in Malden for most of her life before moving to Maine 5 years ago.
Prior to her retirement due to her health, she spent 18 years as an administrator in the Fuel Assistance Program at the Tricap Community Action in Malden.
She enjoyed poker, cooking, cribbage, bingo, doing crossword puzzles, and her dogs.
She leaves her son, John T. Carter, Jr. of North Waterboro, Maine and her daughter, Jill S. Smith and her husband Todd of Waterboro, Maine. She was the sister of Robert W. Duffy of Malden and the loving Grandmother of Sean Falasca and James Falasca, Jr. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Gayle’s Funeral Service will be held in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Monday at 11:00AM. Relatives and friends invited. Interment Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
