Harold Guppy Jr.

Mr. Harold J. Guppy Jr, (Gup) age 92, of Lynn, died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday January 14, 2016. He was the loving husband of Gloria A. (O’Brien) (McShay) Guppy. Born in Lynn, he was the beloved son of the late Harold J. and Mary G. (Henward) Guppy Sr. He graduated from Lynn English High School.

Harold worked at General Electric in Lynn for 46 years as a Jet-Engine Test Leader. He was an avid downhill skier and a longtime member of the Ski Bees ski club.

What Gup enjoyed most was spending time with his family and friends at the camp he built himself in Kingston, NH. His best times were clam digging with his granddaughter Sami-Jo, boating, waterskiing and fishing with his family and friends.

Harold leaves his daughter Kristine (McShay) Sierra and her husband Joe of Lynn. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Samantha-Jo Curley and Adam Macdonald, Todd McShay and his wife Lauren, Meghan McShay-Lewis and husband Jeff, Sean McShay, Patrick McShay, Steve Caruso, Rene Caruso, Mark Caruso, Danny Burke, Dennis Burke, Cheryl Burke, Bryanna Sierra, Tony Sierra and Joey Sierra. Five great grandchildren and one more on the way and his daughter in law Deborah McShay. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by two daughters, Carol Burke and Linda Caruso; three sons, Philip (Buzzy) McShay, Wayne McShay and Brian McShay; two brothers Bill Guppy, Dick Guppy and a sister Corinne Trenholm.

Mr. Guppy’s Funeral will be held from the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Monday at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Pius V Church at 10 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Sunday from 1 to 5 PM
