

Mr. Harold A. Strick, age 92 years, of Saugus, died Tuesday at the Tewksbury Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Mary F. (Sawyer) Strick with whom he shared 62 years of Marriage. Born in Erie, PA he was the son of the late Arthur and Mary (Persson) Strick. He moved to Saugus as a young boy attended Saugus schools and graduated from Saugus, High School, Class of 1936. He also attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Mr. Strick was employed at Hanscom Air Force Base as an Electronics Engineer, a Radio Astronomer, and was also the site manager, and engineer in charge of the 84 foot radio telescope, at Sagamore Hill in Hamilton, for 32 years until he retired. He was a member of St, John's Episcopal Church in Saugus, where he served as treasurer for many years, and a member of William B. Sutton Lodge A. F. & A. M. in Saugus. Mr. Strick was an avid Ham Radio Operator, (W1VGE), and past secretary of the Cape Ham Radio Operators Club He enjoyed camping and fishing. He is survived by one son Daryld Strick of Saugus, on sister June Peterson of Hyannis, one granddaughter Carissa Strick of Gloucester, one grandson Brandon Strick of Amesbury, and several nieces and nephews. Service Details: Funeral services will be held at the Parker Funeral Home, 35 Franklin St. Lynn on Monday at 11:00 AM, followed by burial in Pine Grove Cemetery to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours are on Sunday from 2:00 - 6:00 PM. William Sutton Lodge will hold Masonic services Sunday at 2:15 PM. Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc.
