John W. Galante

John was born in Lynn, son of the late John and Margaret (Mageary) Galante. He was a lifelong resident of the city and was a graduate of St. Josephs Institute.

John worked for several years wallpapering and painting. He previously worked in the Lynn Shoe Industry.

John’s true devotion was the time he spent with his family and friends. He was known by many as “Mr. G”. He also enjoyed his trips to Fox Woods and was always there to help people.

In addition to his loving wife he is survived by his children, Debbie J. Janian and her husband Wayne L. of Salem, Kathy A. St. Claire and her husband Harold A. of West Palm Beach, FL, John R. Galante of Tewksbury and Billy M. Galante and his wife Dawn of Lynn. One brother Charlie Paine of Danvers. He was also the devoted grandfather to his 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and his many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was the father of the late Jimmy Galante and brother of the late Robert Galante and Edith MacLean.

John’s funeral will be from the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Friday at 9:30 AM. His Funeral Mass will be in St. Pius V Church at 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 4-8 PM. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn.
