

John J. “Jack” McEachern, age 60, of Salem, former longtime resident of Lynn, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill. Jack was born on May 2, 1957 in Boston, the son of the late John J. McEachern, Sr. and Anne L. (Spedding). He was raised and educated in Lynn, and graduated from Lynn Classical High School, Class of 1975. Jack had worked for several years for the Coca-Cola Company in Needham, as well as for West Lynn Creamery in Lynn. Until recently, Jack had been driving a school bus for his “special needs” kids for NRT, Inc. in Methuen. Jack was an outdoorsman who enjoyed most every sport. He was an avid bowler, dart player and fisherman, as well as an amazing cook. He truly loved spending time with his two grandsons. Jack is survived by his wife of 10 years, Margaret (Strokosz) (Karniej) McEachern of Salem, NH, his daughters; Jennifer Vinton and husband Korrie of Franklin and Sabrina Karniej of Alexandria, VA, his siblings; Steven J. McEachern of Lynn, Cheryl Smith of PA, Harold M. MacLean of Dorchester, Carol Anne Falasca of Saugus and Richard MacLean of Rowley. Grandsons; Thomas and William Vinton, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive him. Jack was predeceased by his sister, Linda Ahl.
Family and friends are invited to attend Jack’s visitation on Thursday, November 9, 2017 from 4-8 PM at Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn, MA 01904. Funeral Services will take place on Friday, November 10, 2017 at 11 AM. Burial will follow in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody.
