

Mr. Justin F. Hanson, Jr., age 83 years, of Ft. Pierce, FL, formerly of Lynn, and Dobbs Ferry, NY, died Jan. 15, 2009 at the Lawnwood Regional Medical Center in Ft. Pierce after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of the late Joy (Yocum) Hanson. Born in Salem he was the son of the late Justin F. and Regina (Doucette) Hanson, Sr. He attended Lynn schools and graduated from Manter Hall at Harvard University, Class of 1943. Mr. Hanson served in the U. S. Army as a Sergeant in the 5th Bombardment Group 13th Air Force seeing action in the China Offensive, the Western Pacific, and the Philippines. He was employed as house father at Dobbs Ferry Children's Village in NY. In 1965 he moved to Miami, FL., where he owned and operated Hanson Landscape Co. for many years until he retired in 1998. Mr. Hanson was a member of the Captain William Shoemaker Post. He was involved in the formation of the Sauntaug Chiefs, Lolli-Pop Lane, and Belden Bly baseball teams. He is survived by one daughter Wanda of Lynn, one brother Robert Hanson of Lynn, one sister Virginia Healy of Colorado Springs, CO, and several nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Richard Hanson. Service Details: Justin's memorial services will be held at the Parker Funeral Home, 35 Franklin St. Lynn on Saturday Feb. 28, at 2:00 PM, to which relatives and friends are invited to attend.
