

Peggy was born in Lynn on September 20, 1928, and was the beloved wife of the late Raymond J. Kane, Sr. for 35 years. She was also a long time companion of Arthur Jorgensen. Peggy was the past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post 507, President of the Shuffleboard League as well as named Irishwoman of the Year. She was President of the Lynn Tech Football Boosters and enjoyed attending her children’s and grandchildren’s games. For many years, she ran the Voice of Democracy Scholarship Fund. She was a generous soul and loved spending time with her family and friends.Lucky Peggy was a winner in living life as well as every raffle she ever entered. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School and raised her family in Lynn.
Peggy was a devoted mother to her six children: Raymond Kane, Jr. and his wife Kathleen, Robert Kane and Denise, Larry Kane and Joanne, John Kane and his wife Donna, Kathleen Kane, and Maureen Gallant and her husband Joseph, all of Lynn. She was a devoted grandmother to Michael Kane and his wife Melissa of Georgetown, Kerry Kennison and her husband James of Lynnfield, Sheila Curry and her husband Sean, Daniel Kane, Connor Gallant, and Jack Gallant of Lynn. She was the great-grandmother to Charlotte and Bridget Kane, Sophie and Juliet Kennison, RJ and Oliver Curry. Peggy was the last surviving sibling and sister of the late Herbert, Martin, James and Thomas Doyle, Agnes Doucette, Ellen Imma, Joan Magner, Rita Manoogian, Anne Dart, and Marion Zera. Peggy is also survived by countless nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Peggy’s visitation on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn. Her funeral will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at 9:00 AM followed by her Funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Church, 8 So. Common Street, Lynn. Burial will be at Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn.
