Marianne E. Wesson

She was the beloved wife, and high school sweetheart of Michael A. Wesson of Salisbury, with whom she shared 49 years of marriage. Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Christie Laganos and Cally (Bungeely) Laganos-Coukos and Christopher Coukos of Peabody.

Marianne was the devoted mother of Nicole and her husband Eric Wormstead Jr. of Bradford and Adam Wesson and his wife Melissa McGuinnes of Marblehead; the grandmother of Noah Wormstead and Liam and Ryan Wesson; the dear sister of Linda Laganos and her partner Susan Slaght of Beverly, Christos Laganos and his wife Yolanda of New Hampshire, Harry Coukos and his wife Helen of Lynnfield, John Coukos and his wife Liz of Holliston and Jana and her husband Scott Stone of Boxford, and many nieces and nephews

Marianne graduated from Lynn English High School with the Class of 1966 and attended Northeastern University. She worked in the asbestos claims department at Electric Insurance in Beverly for 20 years.

Marianne enjoyed many crafts including painting, macramé, quilting, making jewelry, and Japanese Bunka embroidery, and recently completed a large Bunka of a Geisha. She loved to cook many Greek specialties, and was well known for her delicious Spanakopita.

She was an avid NE Patriots fan and was able to watch this past Sunday’s game and being disappointed in Gronk’s latest injury, commenting that he was a ‘glass house.’ Most of all though, loved to spend time with her family and was a devoted and loving wife, mother, “YiaYia” and sister and especially enjoyed attending and participating in her children’s and grandchildren’s activities.

Service information: Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 27 from 4-8 p.m. in the CUFFE-McGINN Funeral Home, 157 Maple St., Lynn. Her funeral service will be held Thursday, Sept. 28 at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Relatives and friends are invited.
