

Known by most throughout her life as “Evelyn”, she was born on June 1st, 1908 to Mr. Philippe & Mrs. Alice (Bourgeois) LeBlanc (from Moncton, Canada). Evelyn was pre-deceased by her sister, Lydia (LeBlanc) Wilkinson and pre-deceased by her four brothers, Leo, Huck, Arthur, and Louis LeBlanc. Her Canadian family re-located to the U.S. in the 1900’s and sought residence in Lynn, MA.
During Evelyn’s lifetime, she made frequent visits to Moncton, Canada with her siblings. In her youth, Evelyn enjoyed the Nahant and Cape Cod beaches, ballroom dancing and she had a great love for animals. Evelyn was a woman of great faith and a longtime communicant of Saint Mary’s Parish in Lynn, MA. Later in life, once her children were grown, Evelyn worked at the David Smith Dress Shop and the Franklin Fruit Market (both in Lynn, MA). For over 30 years, Evelyn resided at the Henry Wall Towers in Lynn. During her time there, she established many treasured friendships.
Evelyn’s favorite and most cherished times were spent with her beloved family and friends. Evelyn enjoyed singing, any and all card playing games, Church Beano & Bingo, scratch tickets and in her later years, taking bus trips to Foxwoods to play the slot machines.
Evelyn was pre-deceased by her daughter, Janice (Colarusso) Riordan, survived by husband Patrick Riordan of Hull, MA and survived by her son, Gerard “Jug” Colarusso, wife Carol (Davis) Colarusso of Hales Location, NH.
In addition, Evelyn adored her three grandchildren, Susan (Colarusso) Conte, husband Rick Conte of Salem, NH; Patricia Riordan of Hyde Park, MA and David Colarusso, wife Jessica of Douglas, MA, along with, her three beloved Great-Grandchildren, Raphael Riordan, Amy and Eric Conte.
A huge and special “Thank You” to the Life Choice Hospice Team (Karen Heider, Paula Tibbs, Stacy Sprague and Sister Helen) and to the Hathorne Hill nurses and aids for their exceptional care, love and kindness, which they gave so graciously to Marie Evelyn during her time there.
At the family’s request, services will be private. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home in Lynn, MA.
