Michael Phillip Boynton, a long-time resident of Saugus, passed away in his home surrounded by his family on Friday morning, October 5, 2018 at the age of 58. Born in Salem, MA, he was the son of the late John and Isabele (Mahoney) Boynton. Mike was raised and educated in Peabody and was a graduate of Peabody High School. He worked as a machinist with various companies, but retired from General Electric in 2017 after 20+ years of service. Mike was a dedicated father who rooted on his children at their athletic events. He was an avid sports fan and loved to cheer on the Patriots. His sarcastic sense of humor could fill a room with laughter and he will be greatly missed.
Michael leaves his children: Nathan Boynton and his wife, Tracy of Wilmington, Nicole Boynton of Salem, and Jacob Chadwell and his wife, Paola of Wakefield, his grandchildren; Nicholas Boynton and Julian Chadwell, his sister, Carol Akeley of Peabody, and his long-time partner, Katherine Carlton of Saugus.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 from 4 to 8pm. All other services will be held privately.
