

Nancy A. (Champion) Murphy, age 73, of Lynn, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and dedicated educator passed away on Friday, June 2, 2023. Nancy's journey in life was one marked by love, compassion, and a relentless commitment to the education of countless students. Her passing has left an indescribable void in the hearts of all who knew her.
Nancy was born on July 21, 1949. She was raised in Swampscott, with a thirst for knowledge and a passion for making a difference in the lives of others. She embarked on her teaching career at North Shore Community College and went on to graduate from Salem State College with unwavering enthusiasm.
Over the course of her lifetime, Nancy dedicated herself to shaping the minds of countless students. She taught at various schools in Lynn, leaving an indelible mark on each institution she graced with her presence. Nancy's ability to inspire her students was unparalleled, and her innovative teaching methods and dedication made her a true beacon of hope for many young minds.
Throughout her 50 years of marriage, Nancy's unwavering love and devotion were reserved for her beloved husband, David S. Murphy, Jr. Their bond was unbreakable, and together they created a home filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. David will forever hold Nancy in his heart and carry her love with him.
Beyond her professional achievements, Nancy found profound joy in her roles as a mother, sister, wife, and grandmother. She leaves her loving son, Connor and his wife Jacquelyn Murphy. They were not only a source of immense pride for Nancy but also an integral part of her life. Nancy's heart overflowed with love for Connor from the moment he was born, and she celebrated his accomplishments and supported him through life's challenges. Nancy welcomed Jacquelyn as a daughter and cherished the love and happiness she brought to Connor's life. Together they created a loving home filled with warmth and shared dreams. Nancy took great joy in witnessing their love and the growth of their relationship.
Nancy adored her two grandchildren, Aria (11) and Greyson (5). She showered them with affection and imparted wisdom and values that will shape their lives forever. Her legacy will live on through them, as they carry forward her spirit of love and kindness.
She is survived by her sister Lorrie and her husband Bruce Sopper, as well as their daughter who was a pillar of support and companion of life's journey. She leaves behind her sister-in-law Donna and her husband Joe Lang, along with her nieces and nephews, who were not just family but also dear friends and confidants.
In addition to her loving family, Nancy also leaves behind a multitude of dear friends whose lives she had touched throughout the years. Nancy's kind hearted nature, warmth, and genuine interest in others forged a deep and lasting connections with those fortunate enough to have known her. She was a beacon of friendship, always ready to lend an ear, offer support, and share in both joys and sorrows of life. Her friendships enriched the lives of those around her, and her memory will continue to be cherished by the countless friends who were blessed to have her unwavering presence in their lives.
The Memorial Service to honor Nancy's life and legacy will be held in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn on Thursday, June 8, 2023 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm where friends, family, and all those whose lives were touched by Nancy are invited to join in paying tribute to her remarkable journey.
She will forever remain in our hearts, and her memory will continue to guide us as we navigate the challenges of life. May she rest in eternal peace knowing the profound impact she made on this world.
