

Nor Stedman, 56, of Lynn, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 5, 2016. Born in Stoneham, he was the beloved son of Carol Gioacchini of Lynn and the late Jonathon Stedman. Nor is survived by his loving wife, Cindy (Mello) Stedman, formerly of Gloucester, MA ; his dear sister Kyle and her husband, Charlie “CJ” Walo, of South Paris, Maine; his brother in law Edward Mello of Gloucester, he was the step brother of Sean Stedman and the late Matthew Stedman. Nor is also survived by many extended family members, in the US and Canada, close friends including Mary Ann & George Fletcher of Gloucester, MA and many co-workers he considered as family. Besides his father & step brother, Nor was predeceased by many aunts and uncles in addition to his maternal grandparents, Americo and Caroline Gioacchini.
Nor graduated from Westfield High School, Class of 1977. After graduation he entered the U.S. Coast Guard, serving from 1977-1979, including some time served out of Gloucester. He continued to serve until 1983 as a reservist. He worked for GE in Lynn, MA for over 36 years as an industrial aircraft mechanic and was a member of the IUE-CWA Local #201. He retired in May 2015. Nor was an avid reader, loved drag racing and everything to do with automobiles. He loved to figure out how things worked especially anything mechanical. He was nicknamed “The Professor” by some of his coworkers. Nor was a very talented artist who won several awards for his paintings, drawings, illustrations, etc. He loved traveling, especially to Maine and South Carolina. He had a passion for life, loved the ocean & mountains, football and family get togethers. He will be dearly missed by all including his cat, Cleo.
A Memorial Service and Celebration of Nor’s Life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February, 27th at the CUFFE-McGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St. LYNN. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held in the funeral home from 1:00 p.m to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 27th prior to the service.
