

Born in Athens, Greece, the daughter of the late John and Mary (Sideris) Chepes, Pauline came to Lynn in 1946. She was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School and resided here all her life.
For 45 years, she was the owner of the Greek Favor Shop in Lynn. She also spent many years as a teacher at St. Vasilios Greek School in Peabody.
She was a longtime member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church and belonged to the Athenian Pirean Association of Boston. She enjoyed knitting, cooking, and spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband, she leaves her sons, Spiro Papanastasiou and his wife Debra of Lynn, John Papanastasiou and his wife Stefanie of Salem, and Angelo Papanastasiou of Lynn, and her daughter, Claire Papanastasiou and her husband Gregory Colling of Newburyport. She was the sister of Frank Chepes and his wife Danielle of Marblehead and Charles Chepes and his wife Paula of Lynn. She was the grandmother of Kristina, Stephanie, Nicholas, Alaina, Evan, Lucca, and Noah and is also survived by many nieces and nephews here and in Greece. She was the sister of the late George Chepes.
Pauline’s Funeral will be held from the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St. LYNN on Monday at 10:00AM followed by a Funeral Service in St. George Greek Orthodox Church at 11:00AM. Relatives and friends invited. Interment Pine Grove Cemetery. Visiting Hours Sunday 2-6PM. In lieu of flowers, gifts in Pauline’s memory may be sent to St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 54 South Common St. Lynn, MA 01902 or to the Talking Book Library for the Blind, 3 Salem Sq. Worcester, MA 01608-2015.
