

Mrs. Phyllis C. (Brown) Dykes-Hector, age 95, of Lynn, died Friday afternoon in a local nursing home following a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Moses C. Dykes and Aubrey C. Hector, Sr.
Born in Saugus, Phyllis was the daughter of the late Edmund W. and Ruth C. (Reesby) Brown. She attended Lynn Schools and was a lifelong resident of the city.
Prior to her retirement in 1980, she was employed by the GE as a General Laborer. She was a longtime member of the Local #201 AFL-CI0. An avid photographer, Phyllis also volunteered at the Salvation Army, the Lynn YMCA and many other local organizations. She was a longtime member of the Bethel A.M.E. Church of Lynn.
She leaves her children, Cleroy C. Dykes of Lynn, Elgar B. Dykes and his wife Anne of Cincinnati, Ohio, Aubrey C. Hector, Jr. of Lynn, and Amelia E. Battle and her husband Edward of Lynn. She was the sister of E. Carleton Brown of Lynn, William C. Brown of Norristown, PA, and R. Althea Flamer of Lynn. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Robert O. Brown.
Phyllis’ Funeral Service will be held in the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Friday at 11:00AM. Relatives and friends invited. Burial will be private. Visitation prior to the Service beginning at 9:00AM. Gifts in her memory may be sent to the Bethel A.M.E. Church, 72 Silsbee St. Lynn, MA 01901.
