

Mr. Richard M. “Dick” Stone, age 83, of Peabody, died Wednesday evening in the Kaplan Family Hospice House after a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of the late M. Joan (Donlon) Stone, with whom he had shared 58 years of marriage.
Born in Brockton, Dick was the son of the late Martyn and Grace (Augustine) Stone. He attended Lynn Schools and was a graduate of Lynn English High School Class of 1947. He later attended Franklin Institute in Boston.
Prior to his retirement, Dick worked as a machinist for Norelco. After his retirement, Dick worked at the Richardson Funeral Homes and later with the Stanetsky-Hymanson Memorial Chapel, Eustis-Cornell Funeral Home and the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home. During that time, he developed many long-lasting friendships. He enjoyed reading, photography and the occasional trip to Foxwoods. He was a late member of Valladolid Council #70 Knights of Columbus.
He leaves his daughter, Denise Lemenager and her husband Danny of Peabody. He was the loving Grampy to Randi Lemenager. He also leaves 2 nieces, many loving cousins and his dear friend of 75 years, Marty Burtman.
Dick’s Funeral Service will be held in the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Monday at 11:00AM. Relatives and friends invited. Interment Puritan Lawn Memorial Park. Visiting Hours Sunday 2-6PM. In lieu of flowers, gifts in Dick’s memory may be sent to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 75 Sylvan St. Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
