Robert “Bob” S. Thomson Sr., age 86, of Lynnfield, passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2024. He was the beloved husband of Lorraine (Murphy) Thomson with whom he shared 66 years of marriage. Born in Dorchester, he was the son of the late Robert and Anna (Attridge) Thomson.
Bob was the devoted father of Alice, Robert Jr., Brian, and Erin, the cherished grandfather of 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, the dear brother of the late Marilyn and Kevin, and he leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
He grew up in Dorchester, graduated from Boston Latin High School with the Class of 1955. He then moved to Lynnfield where he and his wife raised their family. Bob worked in Sales for the Yellow Pages. He was a member of the Salem Country Club, and he enjoyed golfing, watching sports, going to the country club, and cherished his time spent with family and friends.
A Visitation will be held for Bob in Our Lady of Assumption Church, 17 Grove Street, Lynnfield, on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 from 10:30 am – 11:30 am. His Funeral Mass will begin at 11:30 am. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery.
