Robert was born on July 3, 1956 to Robert and Kathleen (Vigeant) Gordon. Robert grew up in Lynn, where he met his future wife at the age of 14. Paula and Robert, married on September 11, 1983, raised two children, Crystal and Hunter. He was also the (very) proud “Gramps” to the newest member of the Gordon family, Tyler.
Robert was a loving and caring man who was admired by all who knew him. A drive down the street with him typically resulted in a handful of people screaming “Gordy!!” with a big wave and smile on their face as he drove by. From a deep-sea fisherman to a commercial truck driver, Robert was a hardworking man who always put his family first. When he wasn’t attending his daughter's dance recital or driving around the country for his son's baseball games, you could find him seeking out the hot fishing spots or taking a ride up the coast on his 1983 Harley or one of his many other styles of a bicycle. Robert spent the last few winters soaking up the sun in Boca Raton, FL where he quickly became one of the locals and made friends everywhere he went. While in Boca, he also took a passion for saving the sea turtles who play a vital role in maintaining the world’s oceans that he adored and respected.
Robert is survived by his wife Paula (Hunger) Gordon, his daughter Crystal and her husband Matt Gambardella of Swampscott, and his son Hunter Gordon and his wife Lindsay and their son, Tyler of Beverly. Robert was preceded in death by his father Bob, and is also survived by his mother Kaye and his siblings Kathy Rael, and Jimmy and Wayne Gordon.
A Celebration of Life for Robert will be held on August 25, 2022 at The Point of Pines Yacht Club 28 Rice Ave Revere, MA 02151 from 4-7pm. All are welcome to stop in for a drink, share a story, and to celebrate the beautiful life that Robert lived. The family will be holding a private funeral service. In lieu of flowers, please donate to gumbolimbo.org (Save the Turtles!) or movember.com to promote men’s health and awareness.
