Bob was born in Boston, Massachusetts to the late Freeman and Cora Kendall and was raised in Medford, along with his brothers George and Eddie. Bob worked as a self-employed carpenter and mason until he retired, and was highly respected in the industry.
Bob had a love of boating and an obsession for all things antique. From antique boats, outboard motors, phonographs, and furniture, he collected it all. He loved yard sales and flea markets. You would never know what he would pull into the driveway with, but often it was an antique boat or motor.
Bob loved to travel around New England and beyond attending antique and classic boat and motor meets. He enjoyed conversations with other members, and antique boat enthusiasts. One of the highlights was traveling to Naples, Maine with his wooden Lyman.
Bob was a charter member of Riverside Yacht Club in Medford. In the early days, you would find him sitting on his Chris Craft, the Wild Blue at RYC drinking a beer (or two). Then vacationing at Oak Bluffs, Martha’s Vineyard. In the later years, he would be on his newer boat, the Wild Rose, enjoying a quieter life and the sunsets at Menemsha, Martha's Vineyard.
Bob is survived by his loving partner Carol, sons Robert and wife Jane of Melrose, MA, Jeffrey and wife Shawna of Melrose, MA, and Daniel and wife Caroline of Amesbury, MA; his grandchildren, Natalie, Robert, Kellianne, Jackson, Zach, Theo and Maeve, as well as great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and countless other family and friends.
