Robert K. Waters

Mr. Robert K. “Buddy” Waters, age 74, of Port Charlotte, Florida formerly of Peabody, died Tuesday morning in the Tidewell Hospice in Port Charlotte following a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of Anne S. (Duffy) Waters, with whom he shared 49 years of marriage.

Born in Malden, Buddy was the son of the late John J. and Edith E. (Howard) Waters. He was raised in Malden and was a graduate of Malden High School. He lived in Lynn and Peabody for most of his life before moving to Port Charlotte in 1986. He enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War.

Prior to his retirement, Buddy proudly worked as a truck driver for Gibbs Oil and later worked in the Charlotte County School Department. He absolutely loved his 2 dogs, Missy and Teddy and also enjoyed boating, camping, boxing and cars.

In addition to his wife, he leaves his daughters, Lisa A. Waters of Quincy and Maryann J. Waters of Port Charlotte, FL. He was the brother of John J. Waters of Ipswich and loving Grandfather of Jessica Waters and Haley Browning both of Port Charlotte, FL. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Robert K. “Bobby” Waters, Jr.

Buddy’s Funeral will be held from the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Saturday at 8:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Ann’s Church, Peabody at 9:00AM. Relatives and friends invited. Interment Saint Joseph’s Cemetery. Visiting Hours Friday 4-8PM. Gifts in Buddy’s memory may be sent to the charity of one’s choice.
