Mr. Thomas P. Flynn

LYNN – Mr. Thomas P. Flynn, 90, a life-long resident of Lynn, passed away on August 7, 2015. Born in Lynn to the late James and Mary Jane (Gilbane) Flynn, he graduated from Lynn English High School. Tom served in the United States Navy during WWII and later worked at New England Telephone Co. He was a member the IBEW, Amvets –Franco American Post #161, and the Ancient Order of Hibernians. He was an avid reader and gardener, enjoyed bowling with the Telephone League, and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers retirement group. Tom was the beloved husband of the late Angela M.

(Keane ) Flynn, the devoted father of Maureen and her husband, Bill Camire of Lynn, Patricia Flynn and her husband, Peter Doeringer of Newton, Dianne and her husband, Frank Dunion of Nahant, Sharon and her husband, John Lavallee; the cherished grandfather of Julie, Jamie, Michelle, Eric, Matthew, Heather, Lindsay, Meaghan, Daniel, Peter, Justin and Lauren; and great-grandfather of Zachary, Jack, Sarah, Andrew, and Julia; the dear brother of Mary Flynn, George Flynn, both of Lynn, Julie Griffin of West Dennis, Peggy Cresta of New Hampshire, and the late James, John, and Genevieve Flynn; brother-in-law of Maryjane Flynn of Georgia; and the uncle of many nieces and nephews. Tom’s funeral service will be at CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St., Lynn, on Tuesday, August 11th, at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. in St. Pius V Church, 215 Maple Street, Lynn. Interment will follow in the WWII Veteran’s section at Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn with military honors. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to call at the Funeral Home on Monday, August 10th, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Thomas’ memory to the James and Mary Flynn Scholarship Fund at St. Pius V School, 28 Bowler St., Lynn, MA 01904.
