Virginia M. Cantrell

Mrs. Virginia M. (Coughlin) Cantrell, age 90, of Medway, formerly of Lynn, died Sunday, August 12, 2012 in the Medway Country Manor. She was the wife of the late Melvin Cantrell with whom she shared 57 years.

Born in Saugus, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Margaret (McIntire) Coughlin. She was raised and spent her entire life in Lynn prior to moving to Medway in 2000. Virginia was a factory worker for Norelco in Lynn. She enjoyed playing bingo and playing cards with her family. Virginia was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia J. Hamwey and husband Ed of Norfolk, grandchildren, Scott Hamwey and wife MaryBeth of East Boston, Kimberly Austin and husband Shawn of Milford, great-grandchildren, Zachary and Madeline Austin and Brigid, Vivian and Caroline Hamwey. Several nieces and nephews. She was the beloved sister of the late Paul Coughlin, Frederick “Harlan” Coughlin, Jackie Coughlin, Frank Coughlin, Elizabeth Marasco, Louise Brousseau and Sally Doane.

Honoring Virginia’s wishes, there will be no services.
