Yolanda A Johnson

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Yolanda who left us far too soon, on February 11th after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the wife of Matthew R. Johnson with whom she shared  24 years together, 15 of those in marriage. Born in the Dominican Republic she was the daughter of Manuel Baez and Carmen (Villalona) Lebron. She attended schools in Salem, MA, and graduated from Salem High School, Class of 2002.  She was employed at Walgreens in Salem and Peabody for several years until becoming a teacher at Kindercare in Peabody, Stoneham and Newburyport. Yolanda was a dedicated educator who touched the lives of many with her kindness, patience, and passion for learning. She was a loving and nurturing mother to two beautiful daughters who were the center of her world and devoted partner to her husband. As a sister and daughter, she was a constant source of support and love. Yolanda could always be counted on to speak her mind and make sure everyone in the room heard it. She found joy in creating beautiful spaces and nurturing life in every corner of her world. Her unmistakable strength, vibrant spirit and warmth will forever be remembered by all who knew her. Her legacy will live on in her children and in the many hearts she touched throughout her life and work.

In addition to her husband and parents she is survived by her daughters Emilia and Evelyn Johnson both of Haverhill, her brother Manuel Baez, her sister Geralyn Lebron, her half sister Sheila Baez, her father and mother-in-law Glenn and Dawn (Lougee) Johnson of  Haverhill and her sisters-in-law, Michelle Sadaphal and her husband Stuart and Meagan Tobin and her husband Raymond. She is also survived by her grandmother,  a niece and three nephews and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and her Kindercare “family”.

Service Details: Yolanda’s visiting hours will be held at the Parker Funeral Home 35 Franklin Street Lynn on Saturday from 11:00 MA – 2:00 PM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Funeral services will be private.
