Anna was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Wesley Stewart.
Anna moved with her family from Montana to Yakima, Washington in 1934, where she lived for most of her life until moving to Des Moines, Washington in 2011.
Anna’s greatest happiness in life was to spend time with her family and friends. She loved gardening, baking and cooking, and found much pleasure in canning fruits and making jams during the summer seasons in Yakima, Washington.
In addition to working hard around her home, Anna worked as lunchroom cook for the Yakima Public School District for many years until her back could no longer tolerate the heavy lifting and long hours of standing. Anna rejoined the Yakima Public School District as a Special Education teaching assistant until she retired.
Anna is survived by her sons, Steven and Douglas and one granddaughter, Kayla Stewart - a great source of joy and deep pride and her beloved brother Frank (Bonnie) Naasz.
Words cannot begin to express the sincere gratitude we will always hold in our hearts for the exceptional tender and loving care provided to Anna for nearly the past two years by each and every caregiver at Narrows Place Adult Family Home. You were our Angels on earth.
The family requests no cards or flowers; your thoughts and prayers are most sufficient and are very deeply appreciated. If you wish to make a donation in memory of Anna, then we suggest the charity of your choice, the American Diabetes Association or the Alzheimer’s Association.
God Bless and keep you until we meet again, Mom. We will miss you terribly and are so grateful for the boundless love and devotion you so generously gave to us each and every day of your entire life.
