Anthony "Tony" Mitchell Brooks was born May 3rd, 1970 in Texarkana,TX to Nancy Elizabeth Brooks. We lost our beloved Tony (son, brother, godfather, faithful friend), way too soon on February 29th, 2020. Tony was raised in the greater Seattle area. He mostly lived in Snohomish County for most of his life. His final residence was in Mill Creek, WA.
He attended Mariner High School and graduated in 1988. In his youth, he enjoyed, sports (track and baseball), break dancing, acting, creative writing, drawing, video and role playing games such as Dungeons and Dragons, Cyber Punk, Atari and Nintendo.
Tony worked various jobs throughout his life. Most notably for Microsoft and also as a security guard/bouncer. He said many times his job as a bouncer was more about finding ways to prevent conflict rather than inciting it. Patrons enjoyed his carefree attitude and good sense of humor.
His passions included being an avid comic book fan and gamer, film buff, loved good food, and spending time with his feline companions Emma and Bailee.
Tony was known to many as someone who was always there for them, a joy to be around, and loyal to a fault. He showed great love and affection for his family and friends.
Multiple health issues lead to Tony being disabled for several years. This interfered with his goal of fully embracing becoming a pastor.
His gaming community of friends kept him company and he used his online presence to build relationships to help people as described here:
"Through his care and genuine interest, he would reach out to help people with their problems and even just listen to them about their day. His interests were always invested in the person he spoke to and never burdened them with his own problems. Through a variety of games such as World of Warcraft, Elder Scrolls Online, Final Fantasy XIV, Guild Wars 2, Conan Exiles, Gloria Victis and many others, he built a large network of individuals that would eventually come together within the communities he gamed in. Under a few of his favorite character names, Scalphunter, Vashti (Silvermane), Gromok and Kryptt, he built a reputation with his friends as an ambitious and often times humorous addition to any adventure. As a member of the KOTA, Solaris and the Shadow Dragons communities, we want to emphasize the impact he made on many of their members. Regardless of his disabilities, Anthony was always enthusiastic and treated everyone's worries and joys as his own and would dedicate his time to welcoming anyone new he would meet either in a game or for the first time in-person."
In his short time here a significant impact in the lives of his family and friends were made. He is greatly missed.
Anthony "Tony" M. Brooks is survived by His mother Nancy E. Brooks, his sister Michelle K. Edwards and Godsons Dakota Jennings, Xavier Griffin, Lucus Griffin and Christopher Anthony Blaisdell. Anthony is also survived by the Pierce family.
