Leroy "Bernie" West, age 58, passed away on June 27, 2024, in Lynnwood, WA. Born on November 23, 1965, in Juneau, AK, Bernie grew up to embody a spirited and joyful persona, charming everyone with his fun-loving and happy-go-lucky attitude.
Bernie embarked on his career journey as a mover but soon found his true calling in the automotive industry. From 2001 to 2011, he excelled as a new car salesman at Paradise and Lake Chevrolet in Temecula, CA, where his charisma and expertise made him a beloved figure. Later, he continued his passion for cars as an auto body estimator in Washington, where he remained employed until his passing.
Beyond his professional life, Bernie was an avid drag racer, leading the local Pro Series at the time of his passing. His love for speed and competition was only matched by his love for his family and friends.
Bernie is survived by his father, Leroy West Jr.; his son, Brayden West; and his girlfriend, Cynthia Badgley, stepson, Zachary Mathewson; and Bernie’s sister, Kim Munson. He was preceded in death by his mother, Patrice West.
Bernie will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
