

Carol Louise Merk peacefully passed away at home in Lynnwood, WA on April 17, 2025 at the glorious age of 79. Carol was born November 16, 1945 in Benedict, ND. She left this world knowing she had touched so many people throughout her life. She cherished raising her children and helping raise others, driving school bus for Edmonds School District, and especially working in her gardens with all of Gods creatures.
One of her true passions was taking her grandkids, dear friends and sometimes reluctant husband to various places around town. She enjoyed going to Flower World, Country Village, Edmonds Beach, Scriber Pond, and most importantly, Starbucks. Anything to get out of the house and behind the wheel exploring. She was given the Golden Apple Safety Award for driving a school bus for 28 consecutive years without a single incident.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Anna Schoenberg, her husband, Elmer Merk, her sisters, Marlene Schoenberg, Violet(Leroy) Homann, Cecilia(Warren) Howe, and Dora(George) Gross, and George Schoenberg. Carol is survived by her brothers, Wayne(Rose) Schoenberg and Lester(Laura) Schoenberg, her daughters, Christine Merk and Annette Wilde, son, Mitchell(Jenny) Merk, grandkids Ashley, Shelby, Matthew, Kenneth, and William, and dearest family friend, Jon(Gayle) Huber.
