David Eugene Stevens Chloupek, 80, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2026. Born April 23, 1945, in Champaign, Illinois to Clifford and Mildred Stevens. David grew up around the world due to his dad being in the Air Force. He attended around 12 different schools, graduating from Orange High School (CA) in 1963. Following graduation, David joined the Marine Corp and spent time in Vietnam, then used his GI bill to attend Duke University.
White attending North Seattle Community College, David met Cindi Esko. After getting his electronics degree, David went to work at Quinton Instrument Company as an engineering technician (where Cindi worked), and they were married September 4, 1993. They settled down in Bothell, Washington to raise a family. After David left Quinton, he worked as an independent consultant for a variety of companies, umpired baseball for children’s leagues in the area, and changed careers to work as a school bus driver until retiring. After retiring, he enjoyed reading and playing a few video games, both of which his favorite genre was sci-fi.
David is survived by his devoted wife of 32 years, Cindi Esko-Chloupek, children Vincent, Vanessa, Danielle (& family), and Michelle (& family); sister Sandra (& John), niece Jennifyr (& family) and many cousins.
