Don was preceded in death by his parents, his 3 brothers, 4 sisters, his wife, Lorraine (1994) and several nieces and nephews. Don was survived by his son and daughter-in-law, daughter, his 5 grandsons and 4 granddaughters-in-law, his 7 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Don moved to Seattle with his family at about 12 years old. He graduated in 1936 from Roosevelt High School in Seattle. He loved to play baseball, basketball and tennis. His brother, Keith, got him his first job at the check-clearing department at a Bank in the University District. When the war broke out he was working at a shipyard in Kirkland. He met Lorraine Hansen when they both worked at Puget Sound Power and Light. They married October 21, 1942. He and his brother, Keith, ran the Dairy Farm where Lorraine grew up. Later, he became a builder, building many homes, duplexes, triplexes, apartment buildings and Silver Shores Mobile Home Park at Silver Lake in Everett.
Don loved to travel and toured the world more than once. He was completely enthralled with sports. However, he would watch a football game until his team started to lose and would turn it off in disgust! He enjoyed playing tennis with his nephews and friends whenever the chance produced itself and as long as he won!!!
Don had good health most of his life until his later years but even then he was blessed with very little down time. He moved into a Senior Living Facility in 2013 and a Group Home in 2018, where he spent his final year.
