

Herbert R Day, 80, after a long illness, went to be with his Lord on May 6, 2013. Herbert was born in Nampa, Idaho and stayed there through high school where he met his sweetheart, Marilyn Whelchel. Before they married in Caldwell, Idaho, he attended the University of Idaho for a year. They moved back to Nampa where they had their two oldest boys, Steven and Richard. The family moved to Western Washington and welcomed Suzanne and Michael to the family.
Herbert was a hard-working man who moved his way throughout Albertson's grocers to Store Manager. He spent nearly 30 years in Mountlake Terrace and was involved in Little League Baseball and served on the city council for three years. Along with his passion for youth sports, he was a fan of the University of Washington and the Seattle Seahawks. His "Hawk Dawg" truck was a fixture for years outside of Husky Stadium and the Kingdome.
Herb is survived by his beloved wife of more than 60 years, Marilyn; his sons, Steven, Richard and Michael; daughter Suzanne; six grandsons; 16 great grandchildren; and two great, great grandkids

Herbert's service will be held Friday, May 17 at 2 p.m. at Floral Hills Funeral Home and Cemetery at 409 Filbert Road, Lynnwood, WA with Celebration of Life to follow at Mariner Village located at 815 124th St. SW, Everett, WA.
