SMSGT Jack D. Crockett, USAF ret., passed away peacefully in his sleep the evening of October 17, 2010. Jack was born in Pocomoke City, MD on May 17, 1922 and was part of the greatest generation this country has known. Jack enlisted in the US Army Air Corp in 1942 and later served his country as a member of the 8th Air Corp stationed in Great Britain. He met his future wife Peggy during the war and they were married shortly after the end of WWII. Their marriage lasted 62 years until Peggy’s death two years ago. He was an active member of the retired Air Force Sergeants Association and supported many veterans’ causes. Jack is survived by his daughter, Rhonda Nelson, and her family of Brier WA, and sisters Florence, Jane, Nadine, and Peggy Ann who all reside on the East Coast. The family would like to thank Clare Bridge of Everett for the excellent care Jack received during his stay there. Jack will be interned at Tahoma National Cemetery next to wife Peggy. Services will be for the immediate family only. Remembrances may be made to any causes supporting the men and women who serve our country.
