Kathleen Ann “Kathy” or “Casey” Caesar passed away on the morning of May 10, 2025, in Mukilteo, Washington. She was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on March 2, 1951, the daughter of Harold Ray Lawrence and Virginia Louise Romine. Harold passed away on July 12, 1999, and Virginia followed him last year on April 21, 2024.
She leaves her only child, a daughter, Nicole Caesar Kennedy (Kyle) of Mukilteo, WA and two granddaughters, Madeline Grace Hunt (Dawson) of Pullman, WA, and Makayla Ann Kennedy of Mukilteo to mourn her passing and to remember her lovingly.
Casey had only one sibling, William Ray Lawrence (Joanne), of SeaTac, Washington. Their children are: William’s daughter, Keri Lawrence and Joanne’s daughter, Jennifer Lawrence. One other family member, a stepsister, Judith Ann “Judi” Carlson, is the daughter of her stepfather Al Carlson.
Harold and Virginia moved the family to Salem, Oregon when Casey was about four years old, and then, later, to SeaTac, WA. At age ten, they all moved once again to the Juanita neighborhood of Kirkland.
After graduating from Redmond High School, Casey attended Seattle’s Renon’s Beauty School, where she earned a cosmetology degree. She was the only student in her class whose instructor would allow to cut her hair.
Casey married Danny Lee “Dan” Caesar on July 18, 1971, at the King County Courthouse in Seattle. Later, they held a Celebration of Marriage for family and friends at Seattle’s Washington Park Arboretum.
After daughter Nicole was born, Casey left the cosmetology field and held many executive sales positions until she joined Consolidated Press, a commercial printing company. She retired from sales in 2013 as a Senior Account Executive.
She had a lifelong love of fashion, jewelry, hair styling, and makeup. Whatever the occasion, she was always stunningly and impeccably dressed. Although she had turquoise blue eyes, her favorite color was red which was reflected everywhere in her home décor and in her fiery personality.
There were many sources of pride in Casey’s life; among them were her family, the condo she owned in Lynnwood, and her cat Bella.
She loved spending quality time with her family, especially attending mother/daughter outings for coffee or craft fairs as well as hosting sleepovers for her granddaughters when they were little.
Visiting the tulip fields in the Skagit Valley every spring was another favorite outing of hers. She’d bring home a big bouquet, arrange it in a vase, and enjoy it until the last one wilted. She was able to visit the tulip fields one last time in April of this year.
Following her divorce in King County in 1978, Casey started skydiving. She made several successful jumps before participating in a jump in which a fellow skydiver had a heart attack. When the airport crew ran to assist him, they had to abandon the landing target on the ground, and it blew over to a rough field of grass and stones. When she landed, she twisted her right leg and broke both tibias. She wore a cast up to her hip for nine months while taking care of her 3-year-old as a single mother.
In her healthier years, she loved to hike, camp, and enjoy nature. Casey always had an adventurous spirit! Whenever the mercury topped 80 degrees, she could be found in Martha Lake, rowing her beloved rubber raft, the Seveylor.
Whenever she gave a gift, she would always include a little something extra. If someone would object to her magnanimity, she would reply with one of her favorite sayings, “It’s just a little tuck-in gift!” Casey, her generosity, and her kindness will be remembered forever by those who loved her.
