Keith and my late husband, Don Thompson, met at Jane Adams Jr. High School in Lake City when they were in their early teens in the late 40's. They were loyal, best friends for 70 years. Later, when they both got a car, they would cruise the drive in's (Toppings in Lake City and Wilson's on 99-Aurora) on Saturday nights looking for girls and drag racing on Aurora. Keith had a fast coral and white new 1955? Ford Victoria and Don had a hopped up 48 Ford coupe. (it was almost like the racing in the James Dean movie with all the girls egging them on. Later, they were a "little" more subdued and they went boating shooting, hunting, camping and. fishing at the ocean. I wish we could go back and do it all over again.
I am feeling a bit lonely now that Keith, Earlene and Don are gone....................................
but we HAD A HECK OF A GOOD TIME FOR 70 some years & lots of memories.
