Avon, South Dakota. He passed away on August 4th, 2011 at the age of 85.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Carol (Holm) Van Gerpen, his five children: Edward, Kenneth, Richard, Jon, and Loreene (Romano), 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and his sisters Lylah Campbell and Lois Cooke.
Lowell is a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving his country from 1944 to 1946.
Lowell proudly served his community as a member of
Evangel Temple in Ballard, where he taught Sunday school for 25 years
A gifted craftsman, Lowell built the family home in Seattle, worked as a roofer for thirty years, and taught all of his sons the trade.
Lowell was an avid gardener, loved to go on nature walks, read history books, and spend time with his family and friends.
May he rest in Peace in his Heavenly Home.
