

On September 20, 1941 Michael Delane Marshall was born to the late John Wesley Marshall & Christine June Marshall in Wilmington, VA. He attended public schools in D.C and received numerous awards for track and field at Sprinarn High School. During the summers, he worked for Corson and Grumman Construction Company as a laborer until he enlisted in the army at the age of 17. Michael served his country over multiple enlistment terms earning over thirty numerous medals and commendations among them, the purple heart, bronze stars, a Presidential Citation Gallantry Cross for the Republic of Vietnam and several for meritorious service.
While in service Michael met and married the love of his life, Blanche Marshall (McHenry) and eight years later they became the proud parents of Shania Marshall. He also continued his education at multiple college & universities leading to his position at the Port of Seattle which he held for over 30 years.
Michael loved to spend time with family and friends. He was an avid lover of outdoor sports, biking, golf and sail boat racing.
Michael was baptized at an early age at First Baptist in Georgetown D.C. He later attended Damascus Baptist Missionary Church followed by Second Baptist and the Seattle Meditation Center.
He leaves to mourn, his first wife Evelyn; his second wife Blanche; daughter Shania; brother John Russell Sr., sisters Diane Marshall & Barbara Simpson; niece Shantese Marshall; nephew John Jr.; great niece Johnasha and a host of family and friends.
He was loved by many and will be very much missed and remembered.
There will be an Interment Service at Tahoma National Cemetery at 2:00pm on Thursday, January 10, 2013.
