Natalie was born to Nathaniel and Anne Warman on July 10th, 1934 in San Diego, CA, the second of four children. Being a Naval Family, they traveled and lived in the Philippine’s and Shanghai, China eventually landing in San Pedro, CA. Later the family moved to Corinthian Island, CA where Natalie fondly remembered hopping on the bus, crossing the Golden Gate Bridge and taking day trips to San Francisco. The Warman Family moved to Maui, HI where she attended St. Anthony’s School graduating in 1952. In High Scholl Natalie played Basketball and worked at the Movie Theatre in Kahului. Shortly after graduating from High School Natalie became the first woman from the Island of Maui to enlist in the United States Air Force. In the Air Force Natalie became a Meteorologist and worked on weather map plotting. Natalie was stationed at McChord Air Force Base in Tacoma, WA which created a lifelong love affair with the State of Washington.
After leaving the Air Force in 1955 Natalie went to work for the University of Washington Department of Meteorology & Climatology for Dr. Richard J. Reed. She also attended the University of Washington at this time. Later she moved to Tallahassee, Florida and worked at the Florida St. University Department of Meteorology and attended Florida St. University. In 1962 she moved back to Seattle to be near her brother John Warman and had her first child Robert in May of 1962. After having Robert she moved back to San Juan, Puerto Rico to be with her Parents and remained there until 1965 at which time she met her Sister Elsie in Florida and made the Cross Country trip in Elsie’s Ford Taunus back to Seattle.
On December 4th, 1965 Natalie Married Sidney Fadden whom she met through her brother John Warman. Sidney had three children from a previous marriage Dennis A. Fadden, Wayne Lee Fadden, and Pamela Rae (Fadden) Hallsson. On January 8th, 1967 Natalie gave birth to her second son Thomas N. Fadden. By that time Natalie and Sidney had made their home in the Martha Lake Area of Snohomish County where she was, after years of moving, ready to settle down so they did. Natalie and Sidney raised cattle, horses, pigs, chickens, goats, cats and dogs. She was particularly fond of dogs and preferred the smaller breeds of Miniature Dachshund’s and Chiwawa’s. Natalie was a Cub Scout Den Mother and an active supporter of the various sports leagues that her two boys were involved in.
Natalie had a successful Banking Career and managed the Kenmore, Alderwood, and Edmonds branches for Shoreline Savings and Loan Association later managing the Kenmore Branch of Washington Mutual Bank after Shoreline’s merger with the Bank. Natalie specialized in Residential Construction and Mortgage Lending and really enjoyed her Career in Banking. During her time in Banking Natalie was a Proud Member of Rotary International. Natalie ended her Banking Career working at the Ballard Branch of Washington Federal Savings Bank.
In her retirement years Natalie and her Husband Sidney were regular morning mall walkers at the Alderwood Mall where they would gather several times a week with friends. She was a Board Member of the Martha Lake Community Club and enjoyed gathering with old friends from the Martha Lake Community. She was also an active member of The Martha Lake Children’s Hospital Guild where she enjoyed the fund-raising events and helping out the kids at Children’s Hospital. Natalie and Sidney would make regular trips to Abbotsford, Canada to pick up prescription medication. It was there they learned that Sidney had extended family who had settled in Abbotsford so they often visited them on their journey’s North. The Couple also enjoyed visiting Sidney’s son Dennis and daughter Pamela in Omak, WA and made trips there throughout their retirement years. Natalie’s good friend Barbara Mackaness often had them over to her home in Wailuku, Maui. They thoroughly enjoyed visiting with Barbara and catching up with friends from her time on Maui.
Shortly after her husband Sidney passed in 2010 Natalie moved into the Merrill Gardens Retirement Community in Mill Creek which later became known as the Brookdale Retirement Community. She enjoyed socializing with the other folks living at Brookdale and developed friendships with many of the residents. Later as her health began to deteriorate, she moved into the Regency Care Center at Monroe. Natalie was very concerned about the well being of others and always put the needs of her children, husband, and family above her own needs. She was not materialistic and preferred experiences over tangible items. She never complained about her considerable health problems and kept a smile on her face and a sense of humor until her very last breath.
Natalie is survived by many friends and relatives; she was an honorable and compassionate person and will be missed by all who knew her.
